After my pitch, I had a chat with Daniel about my idea. We both came to the same conclusion that, instead of figuring out a solution to a very horrible problem that exists, it might be better to instead try to prevent the problem in the first place.
This got me thinking down a rabbit hole of alternatives to my existing idea, and I’ve ended up leaning more towards an education-based app.
I have the idea of an inclusive language learning app, which encourages users to use positive and inclusive communication in everyday life, by teaching them the appropriate words and phrases to say.
Here are a few ideas I had written down:
- Language learning and messaging app designed to teach and promote positive and inclusive communication
- Specifically tackles against sexist and misogynistic content and language
- Real-time language analysis to highlight potentially offensive language before sending messages
- Educational resources on gender equality and respectful communication
- Community posts and forums to share experiences and advice
- Personalised progress tracking to encourage users to continue and improve
- Reporting mechanism to allow users a way to report instances of harassment, can be anonymous
- Leaderboards for positivity, highlighting users who consistently contribute to positivity and inclusion
- The app is completely customisable based on user’s comfort levels and sensitivity
- Possible integration with other messaging and social media platforms
Benefits of the app:
