Using my research on interactive UX design, I decide to compose a board of important points that are critical to consider when creating an engaging, interactive learning app for teenagers. I will then focus on these points and take them further to create an app that is both engaging and interactive.
I’ve also written out the points to make them more readable:
- Teens should feel respects by their teachers and adults
- They want to feel challenged and out of their comfort zone
- They want to understand their goals
- Teens are bound to drift off at some point during a lesson, especially longer ones
- Students should be allowed to ask for and receive help whenever they need it
- Teens learn by taking notes from lectures
- Students should feel safe and comfortable during lessons
- Students learn more by doing than listening
- Students should feel equal and without prejudice
- Students become more engaged when they develop a personal connection with teachers/the content they are learning
- Teachers should minimise criticism to allow students to gain self-confidence
- Mistakes made by students should be discussed and corrected, not ridiculed
- Students should be taught about the consequences of not learning the content e.g. safety will be compromised online
